The 10-238SBP is a dedicated shooting board plane that features an all steel body made from precision ground 1018 steel. The lever cap is brass and the iron is a 2" wide ¼” thick 0-1 tool steel. The style is inspired by the Norris number 11 miter plane, however this plane is made with a bevel down iron configuration and is pitched at 38 degrees which is also it’s effective cutting angle. This iron configuration puts the bevel of the iron almost in line with the cutting point giving the edge very positive support. The 10-238SBP weighs just under 7 pounds supplying plenty of momentum when cutting end grain. Overall length is 10.187.
